Orthohealing Center’s Ultrasound Machine, Sonosite Edge utilized in Study of Unique Tibetan Yoga Practice to regulate cold body temperature
June 22, 2013
At the Orthohealing Center, we utilize the most advanced technology in providing non-surgical orthopedics. Recently the same technology that we use to diagnose injuries and to enhance needle injection accuracy, was utilized in the Himalayas for research on body temperature regulation with yoga. Researchers used the ultrasound machine to measure cardiac performance and carotid flow. Measurements were taken during cold exposure and then on both groups while warming up through meditation or by traditional methods like blankets. Researchers look forward to returning for further studies, and report that National Geographic has expressed interest in documenting the next expedition.
A true example of combining traditional eastern medicine with western advanced technology to enhance our understanding of disease and healing.
