AT THE ORTHOHEALING CENTER, WE TAKE YOUR BACK PAIN AS SERIOUSLY AS YOU DO.
After diagnosing the underlying cause of your discomfort, we’ll do everything within our power to heal the area and relieve your symptoms, so you can get back to your sport and your life.
COMMON CAUSES OF BACK PAIN
There are countless forms of back pain, and a variety of injuries and diseases can cause discomfort in this area of the body. Some of the most common ones we see among our patients in Beverly Hills include:
OSTEOARTHRITIS
Arthritis causes the joints in your foot and ankle to deteriorate over time, causing tenderness, pain, stiffness, swelling and limited mobility.
SPASM
If your back muscles are overworked, they may start to contract, and can even stay contracted– also known as a muscle spasm. Muscle spasms can present with intense pain and stiffness until the spasm resolves.
STRAIN
When a muscle in the back is overexerted or injured, causing pain and stiffness, this type of injury is generally classified as a back strain. This can often be the result of trying to lift an object that is too heavy, and can result in excruciating pain and disability.
SPRAIN
If ligaments in your back and spine are stretched or torn, it’s called a back sprain. In most cases, this injury causes severe pain in the damaged area.
DISC HERNIATION
Within the spine are flexible disks that cushion your bones and absorb shock. When these disks are damaged, they may compress a nerve resulting in lower extremity numbness, pain, weakness or tingling.
