Dr. Beny Charchian of the Orthohealing Center Lectures on Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), Bone Marrow Concentrate, and Regenerative Medicine to Yoga Therapy Students at Loyola Marymount University

Beny Charchian M.D., M.S. was invited to speak as a guest lecturer at the Yoga Therapy instructional course at Loyola Marymount University on Sunday, August 5th, 2012 to discuss the latest advancements in regenerative medicine. Topics included the newest uses for prolotherapy, platelet rich plasa (PRP), and bone marrow concentrate injection therapies for the treatment of common orthopedic injuries and arthritis without the need for surgery. Over 40 Yoga therapy instructers and students were in attendance for discussion of these cutting-edge treatments.

Regenerative medicine and Yoga share some similarities, in that both attempt to heal an injury as naturally as possible. “Yoga Therapy” is a marriage between Yoga and complementary medicine. It is designed to train Yoga teachers to be Yoga therapists and apply classical applications of Yoga for use in clinical settings to help treat common ailments and conditions, often in conjuction with other medical specialists including physicians, chiropractors, and physical therapists. This “multi-disciplinary” approach has been shown time and time again to be the best method of treating most joint, tendon, and ligament problems. The Orthohealing Center is proud to be part of this team approach to getting patients back to living functional, pain-free lives.
