The offices of Dr. Sampson and Orthohealing are one of the best in LA. The treatment here is exceptional and the staff is one of a kind. If it was not for Dr. Sampson and his team, I don’t think I would’ve been able to recover from my Achilles injury as well as I have.

I went to a music festival and sprained my ankle while dancing. I was curious if we could put together a recovery protocol that would improve the speed and robustness of the healing. Dr. Steven Sampson and team were excellent to work with and delivered on exactly this. My speed of recovery was roughly 100% faster than normal and I was back dancing within 10 weeks. Dr. Sampson is evidence based and guided by data. The best life plan is to avoid injury. When it happens, however, you want to work with people whom you can trust.

Common Questions
Answers about our treatments, clinic policies, and patient care.
What services does the Orthohealing Center provide?
The Orthohealing Center is a Los Angeles–based regenerative medicine clinic that offers nonsurgical orthopedics and sports medicine. We provide in-clinic consultations and orthobiologic procedures such as PRP, bone marrow therapy, MFAT, and prolotherapy. Additionally, our BioRecovery Lab features machine-based recovery modalities such as Shockwave / SoftWave, NeuFit, EMTT®, RedVive, and Shiftwave.
Who are the clinicians and experts behind the Orthohealing Center?
Our clinical team is led by Steven Sampson D.O. and Danielle Aufiero M.D., renowned regenerative medicine physicians specializing in nonsurgical orthopedic and sports medicine. Both clinicians bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the practice, ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of care. Their physician profiles are available on our website. In addition to patient care, our doctors teach evidence-based protocols to clinicians worldwide.
How does the Orthohealing Center differ from other regenerative medicine practices?
Dr. Sampson and Dr. Aufiero are U.S. Board Certified doctors with over 30 years’ combined clinical experience and a comprehensive, personalized approach to treatment. Having pioneered the use of autologous treatments in nonsurgical orthopedic care, they offer patients a broad portfolio of autologous orthobiologic treatments and machine-based recovery modalities. To optimize and refine results, multiple contributing structures (tendon, soft tissue, ligaments, bone, and cartilage) are identified and targeted, and patient progress is closely monitored. Procedures are administered under ultrasound guidance to enhance precision, efficiency, patient comfort, safety, and results. Our clinic’s outcomes program also collects patient data to continuously improve proprietary protocols.
Does the practice treat both athletes and non-athlete patients, and what conditions do you address?
Yes—OHC treats athletes, adults, and longevity-focused patients, as well as individuals with chronic musculoskeletal pain. Common treatment areas include the spine, shoulder, hip, knee, ankle / foot, and wrist / hand. Our team also specializes in soft-tissue injuries, select nerve indications, and women’s health. Treatment plans are individualized and based on diagnosis, imaging, and patient goals.
Can I get a consultation at Orthohealing Center and where is the clinic located?
Yes—the Orthohealing Center offers patient consultations to review your medical history, imaging, and treatment options, and to determine a personalized plan. The clinic is centrally-based in West Los Angeles, and we offer telemedicine consultations. During the initial intake, we explain expected outcomes, risks, recovery timelines, and all available options.
What therapies does the Orthohealing Center offer?
The Orthohealing Center specializes in regenerative medicine for musculoskeletal conditions and injuries, delivering a wide variety of treatments to meet each patient’s needs and goals. We aim to enhance physical vitality and longevity with advanced medical technology and nonsurgical, minimally invasive strategies designed to activate the body’s natural healing abilities. Options include orthobiologics such as PRP (platelet-rich plasma), bone marrow aspirate cell therapy (BMAC), prolotherapy, and microfragmented adipose tissue (MFAT); procedures in support of women’s health; and machine-based recovery and adjunct modalities through our BioRecovery Lab—to complement injections—such as Shockwave, SoftWave, NeuFit, EMTT®, RedVive, and Shiftwave.
How do PRP, BMAC, and MFAT differ, and how do I know which is right for me?
PRP uses concentrated platelets from your blood to promote healing and is often used for tendon and joint pain; BMAC uses a patient’s bone-marrow-derived cells for higher cellular content and is commonly selected for more advanced joint or cartilage issues; MFAT uses a patient’s adipose tissue and can provide a scaffold of cells and growth factors useful for soft-tissue and certain joint conditions. Choice depends on your diagnosis, prior treatments, imaging, and goals, all addressed during a personalized consultation and outcome review.
What is the recovery time and when will I experience results after receiving treatment?
Although patients who received a PRP, BMAC, or MFAT treatment may experience some mild soreness and swelling at the injection site for 24 – 72 hours after treatment, most can usually return to light activity within a day or two. Specific recovery time varies by procedure, individual tolerance, and whether a harvest (e.g., bone marrow or adipose) was performed. Clinical improvement often appears between four – 12 weeks, with continued gains potentially up to six – 12 months. Our team will give tailored post-procedure instructions and follow-up through our outcomes program.
Can Orthohealing Center's treatments replace orthopedic surgery?
Many patients are able to delay or even avoid surgery with the Orthohealing Center’s nonsurgical orthobiologic strategies—depending on the severity of the condition or injury and functional goals. Our focus is on providing individualized care and effective treatments that prioritize patient safety and education. If orthobiologic treatments are unlikely to achieve the necessary results, we help expedite surgical evaluations with premier surgeons in the community.
How much do treatments cost at the Orthohealing Center?
Pricing varies by procedure, treatment area, and number of treatments required. Our team provides a transparent estimate after clinical evaluation. To receive an exact quote, request a consultation through our website or by phone.
Does Orthohealing Center accept insurance, and do you offer financing plans?
The Orthohealing Center does not accept insurance. Our patient care team can provide documentation, CDT / CPT codes, and superbills to submit to your insurer, and discuss anticipated out-of-pocket costs after your consultation.
