New Report from AOSSM, Surgery may not be helpful in Tennis Elbow. Non-operative approaches needed.

In a new report form the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, they determined that Surgery may not be helpful in Tennis Elbow. They did a randomized, double-blinded clinical trial, and explored patient responses to a common surgery aimed at repairing a damaged elbow, compared to a placebo procedure. The study analyzed 13 patients who underwent surgery to remove a degenerated portion of their extensor capri radialis brevis (ECRB), compared to a group of 13 who received an incision over their lateral elbow and no further repair, with no significant difference between the two groups at any point.

Treatments like PRP Platelet Rich Plasma have been shown in level I studies vs placebo (including Orthohealing Center’s staff as principal investigators) to be safe, beneficial, & cost effective compared to traditional surgery.
It’s important that patients & clinicians implement PRP Platelet Rich Plasma for tennis elbow when conservative options like PT, acupuncture, medications, bracing & activity avoidance fail.

Get on the path to comprehensive healing and long-term pain relief today.
