Hatha Yoga Shows Benefit for Women Suffering from Osteoarthritis:

A new study has found that Hatha yoga has a positive effect on daily life for women suffering from knee osteoarthritis. In this study 30 women were split into two groups, 15 in the control group and 15 in the yoga group. Those in the yoga group received three 60-minute sessions a week. For 8 weeks, participants were asked to fill out various questionnaires to document how Hatha yoga was impacting their daily lives. The findings revealed that Hatha yoga participants claimed significantly decreased pain and symptoms and increases in their physical activity and quality of life. The results suggest that there is a promising connection between doing Hatha yoga and alleviating symptoms of knee osteoarthritis.
