Shoulder Tendinosis: What Is It?
June 10, 2021
The shoulder is composed of a team of 4 tendons that make up the rotator cuff. The rotator cuff stabilizes the shoulder and allows motion at the joint. Through overuse, poor posture, improper mechanics, or trauma; rotator cuff tendons can wear down. This degeneration leads to chronic pain and discomfort at the shoulder with particular movements like overhead activities. Sometimes patients may describe a pinching-like sensation associated with impingement, as the rotator cuff gets caught between two bones in the shoulder (Acromial & humeral head).
