Knee Replacement Surgery can lead to Brain Network Weakening

We have always been aware that invasive surgery may have its drawbacks, but a recent study from the University of Florida on total knee replacement surgery suggests that one in five older adults experience brain network weakening within the year after the procedure. The study states that 23 percent of adults over 60 that had total knee replacement experienced decreased cognitive function in at least one region of the brain, while fifteen percent of the patients experienced decreased function in all regions of the brain. Invasive surgery should be considered as a last resort and is why here at Orthohealing Center we provide many noninvasive treatments to promote natural healing.
