While most orthopedic research has focused on tendon, ligament & cartilage, physicians are now exploring its potential benefits for troublesome neck & backs.
The author, Dr Adam Weglein published the article discussing PRP’s widespread use. Interest is spreading to Neurosurgery to potentially facilitate healing of spinal injuries and pain. More studies are needed & will emerge regarding PRP use for neck and back pain. Many pain management docs & spine surgeons have recently showed enthusiasm to further study this novel therapy.
