Common Chemicals in fast food containers Causing Osteoarthritis?

A new study has linked exposure to fast food containers, which contain perfluorinated chemicals, with osteoarthritis, particularly in women. Perfluorinated chemicals (PFCs) are found in certain grease-food paper food containers, personal care products, and stain- and water-resistant fabrics. This association was observed in a group of about 4,100 participants in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), which is designed to represent the U.S. population. Further studies are needed to examine the biological mechanisms that may explain this association and to establish temporality.
