S3 Posture Brace
Utilizing state of the art technology to re-educate muscles to restore a healthy balance to reduce pain and dysfunction.
The Root of Many Pain Syndromes begins with Bad Posture… the Scapular Thoracic Stabilizer Brace may help.

S3 Posture Brace
Chronic neck, shoulder and mid back pain are often muscular in origin. When we hunch our shoulders, this changes the position of our shoulder blades known as the scapula. The scapula serves as an anchor for many muscle attachments that connect to regions like our neck and shoulder. Muscles need to be at an ideal length to function at their optimal level with adequate strength and mobility. Muscle imbalance leads to weakness, loss of motion, functional decline, and chronic pain. Muscles have a memory and need re-education to reverse bad postural patterns. Clinically, this can result in a variety of different conditions including headaches, jaw pain, mid and low back pain, and shoulder discomfort.
The AlignMed S3 Posture Brace is designed to provide scapular retraction to improve postural alignment, scapular function, and reduce pain. It is light weight and comfortable and promotes reeducation of the muscles surrounding the shoulder and spine.
Tight overused muscles are forced to be stretched and relaxed. Weak elongated muscles become shortened to their original length, encouraging muscle tone and activation. It is the exact opposite of other braces, which can lead to muscle wasting and weakness due to non-use. The S3 posture brace has three sets of straps that can be used in different configurations to optimize the desired postural correction, depending on the diagnosis. By adjusting the tension on the elastic straps the scapular stabilizing effect can be accelerated or modified as needed. Usually patients have to ease into the brace, beginning with only minutes a day and progressing to hours as the weeks go by. Beneficial affects may be experienced immediately or over a period of weeks. It is not unusual to be sore in the beginning phase of brace use.
In regards to treatment, the posture brace is rarely recommended in isolation. Usually, it is an adjunct and coupled with other treatments such as Traumeel injections, Class IV Laser therapy, therapeutic yoga and physical therapy. This comprehensive approach allows the muscles’ new learning patterns to be reinforced to maintain their new healthy status. During brace usage, patients are typically more mindful of their posture and are generally more in tune with their bodies.
