Our colleague and friend from NY Dr Devi Nampiaparampil was just featured on Dr OZ show demonstrating botox injections for Migraines. This FDA approved treatment is approved by most insurance companies and relaxes tight muscles that often cause migraines. The discovery came when patients being treated for wrinkles noticed their headaches were gone! The treatment takes a few days to take effect and peaks at approximately 3 weeks. The results last for at least 3 months generally and can be repeated if it was found to be helpful. The side effects are minimal including weakness of muscles injected. We utilize ultrasound guidance to ensure safe and accurate needle placement and less painful injections.
